I think Chante replied in a recent thread to say they were actively working on that bug but she couldn't give an eta for an update or extra info because most of the dev team are on holiday.

I talked about this long before holidays but that's good to know there on it thanks
I think it's more a matter of priorities (is it game breaking), how many people is it affecting and how easy it is to identify the issue and come up with a fix. So I guess it's one that they're now actively working on rather than it just being on the list.

Haven't encountered it myself (famous last words) but hopefully it will be in the next update.

After the latest patch, my transport ride queue is always filled to the brim. Guests are turning away with angry thoughts about how busy the railroad has become.

I now have 4 trains running on this route and they can't quite keep up with the demand.

OK, OK, this is a special case. ;) My zoo is divided into two halves by a river and the train is the only way guests can get to the other side.

In my previous zoo, yes, I ran into the same problem of an initial surge when the game was loaded and then very few riders after that. So I built this one to force the annoying little twerps to ride the transport. :)

Are your trains full though? Are people actually getting on?

Yup, they're full. Guests board the train, ride it, and get off at the other station on the far side of the river. Works as expected, amazingly. :)

(note: sometimes a couple of empty seats if the last guest group doesn't quite fill up the last passenger car)

Thanks, that's good to hear. I'm working on an elaborate zoo that has a lot of water and will depend on the boat ride to get to the major habitats. I know others have said they were having problems with guests not getting on the rides.

Well I couldn't wait, I had to test my boat ride. It's well over a thousand meters long, goes around my entire zoo and has 7 stations. I don't have all the habitats done for all the stops yet but so far - it's working great! People get on and off at each stop. I'm really impressed! It's spreading out my guests nicely too. I'm definitely a fan of the River Boat ride :)

First up, LOVELY STATION!!!!
Weirdly i havent really had any issue on my three rides, my main monorail queue is always full at my entrance station, my train is full and my boat ride is still pretty busy. One thing all my ride have in common;

  • they are all multi station rides, going to important locations in my zoo
  • they all go through multiple habitats
  • they are all very heavily decorated, both along the route and at the queue (all my queue overlook at least one habitat.

These are really nice. I'm just experimenting with a new challenge zoo fo rescued animls and I''m way off needing transport yet but it's made me keen to get there!

Thanks Moosegun, for my current zoo I created a set of buildings in sort of a retro-sci-fi style. ;) The interior of that station is quite barren, I have to get around to decorating it soon. I like the lighting though.

I never thought of having the queue overlook a habitat. Great idea. Do you get any complaints about not being able to see the animals clearly? Anyway, it's good to hear your transport rides are working well. My last zoo with the elevated double-track railroad suffered from the problem others have mentioned.

Despite easy access from the main entrance, travelling through 4 habitats, and at least some scenery and decoration (although not as elaborate as yours) the trains had that initial burst of riders, then became ghost towns.

Your experience shows there's still hope! :)

I've made a pretty exhautive post with a list of bugs discovered over 1 day test in the 1.1.0 news and annoncement post.... indeed rides are indeed not working properly and unfortunaly, have few player that does work... is not a good news for debugging purposes - it'll be harder to solve... :(

The other issue is that people dont post their rides on here so we cant comment of specific reasons. I had someone on the Steam forum ranting on about how bugged rides are, he put his zoo up and his ride basically went around an empty field. Guest dont take rides for the sake of it and dont get that much enjoyment from the ride itself.

It took quite a lot of work to put in place long rides which included both transport and animal viewing needs, I dont know how much difference it made because i planned my rides from the start and they have worked pretty much from day 1.

Some of us have been long time Planet coaster players. We know very well the expected behavior of rides and the patterns of guest usage of them. Like I said, unfortunaly, the pattern is unstable - seeable by guest for 5 min (guest will comment on price, say how cool it is etc), then stop, stations don't load guests where there's some, some stations are invisible to guests. More than that, some in game action that should have no effect will have some - like reloading the game. Reloading should have no effect on guest behavior what so ever, therefore, it's a bug. It's useful to know that not everyone get this bug, but it also means it's harder to solve.

Moosegun, roughly how large is your park?

I'm wondering if part of the reason guests didn't use my previous zoo's trains was because I only filled up about 1/4 of the available land. By the time they got distracted by a drink shop and wandered down to it, maybe guests decided to keep on walking further into the zoo instead of backtracking slightly to the first station at the zoo entrance. If my zoo was bigger that might have been incentive to use the trains. Still, as Willibix points out, simply reloading should not cause a change in behaviour.

BTW, my train lines had a total of four stations with the one at the furthest end of the zoo right beside habitats with high value animals -- lions on one side, elephants on the other. So the guest attraction factor should have been there.
