Guests cause strobing effect

Hi guys,

I opened my zoo to guests to test the paths/accessibility etc etc, but for some reason guests are causing a bizarre strobing effect which renders the game almost unplayable. It’s only triggered by guests.

I noticed it happening during the missions/tutorials but can now pin it down to the guests as the cause.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Cant say I have in the past, but have gotten such an affect in Franchise but it didnt worry much much and really didnt think much of what was causing it. However you can turn Guests off if it is causing an issue, that is found in your Settings under the Game tab and Avatar Zoo Visitors.

That being said, see if you can tell what the person is wearing, it might be something with that set causing the issue, but without finding the guest within the zoo and kicking them out you wont know if it is that set of clothing.

Sorry for the delay, for some reason the forum is unable to upload my video or screenshots. The best way to describe what’s happening is lasers shooting out of people, staff and animals. Very trippy.

Looks like animals trigger it too as well as guests and staff.

I haven’t experienced this but since the Australian pack release I have experienced flashing in the grid when laying down construction pieces. Hasn’t effected anything negatively but I know I wasn’t experiencing this before the big update.

First thing that popped up in my mind (happened to me approx 15-20 years ago) is your videocard is getting too hot. (vents not working properly?)
Mostly happened with higher performance games. Mine was triggered with everytime the God animal of Black and White 2 walked across the screen. (yes a long time ago)

I would check that one.

Are we all discussing the same thing here?

I have a very crowded path, and due to the fact there are so many people walking on that single path and as guests have collision detection, they are stuttering all over the place on that path (teleporting left right and center so to speak). (Most noticable when the zoo closes and they all have to manouver that small piece of path).

Hence why I asked for a video to show.

Hi,

I don’t believe it’s an issue with the graphics card over heating or anything like that as the pc will comfortably run much more demanding games without any issues.

I’ll try and upload another video but the forum rejects the videos taken with iPhone as they’re too large.

If you're able to upload it to a site like Imgur, or even Youtube, you can copy & paste the URL into a post and it will automatically embed it. Then you don't have to worry about the file limitations.

Great.. I mentioned this to a lot of people and most people don't bother checking that one. I always try mention it as soon as possible because heat causes a lot of damage to your components. Glad to hear it's not hot. (always glad when i'm wrong on this one)

Personally I think a screenshot in steam (F12) is more usefull - the current screenshot is too small - even if you zoom in.. You really want a full screen pic
You can find that screenshot under view-screenshots and upload that one to imgur or another site that allows uploading images
And copy/paste that link or insert image.
