Guests feeding certain animals

Hi guys,

While I was playing the other day an idea came to my mind. If someone else has already suggested this, I'm sorry.

But I thought how cool it would be if guests could feed certain animals like the Moose, deer and maybe even elephants, giraffes and such. There could be vendors or shops that sell packages with food and you would be required to make sure guests can reach the animals somehow to feed them. Maybe in combination with the Keeper Talks or something?

Would really like this.
Maybe we should make a List of Animals this could work with.

  • Llama
  • Reindeer
  • Fallow Deer
  • Moose?
  • Zebra
  • Bactrian Camel?
  • Reticulated Giraffe
  • Alpine Ibex?
  • Dall Sheep?
  • Ring tailed Lemur?
  • Indian Peafowl
  • African Elephant
  • Indian Elephant
  • Aldabra Giant Tortoise
  • Galapagos Giant Tortoise
  • White Rhino
  • Indian Rhino?
Not sure about the ones with a Question Mark behind their Name

At Hamburg Hagenbeck Tierpark in Germany you can purchase little bags of fruit and vegetables for a fee and feed various animals with it (elephants, petting zoo animals and Lamas, I think?) At least it was like that when I visited some years ago.

Added Elephants to the List👍

I remember visiting a zoo where you could buy food to feed the giraffes, under the careful eye of docents.

Not sure about elephants. I do remember a zoo where you could feed baby elephants in the childrens' zoo special treats, but that was decades ago, and I'm pretty sure the modern approach is to minimize human contact with elephants (even keepers and trainers tend to give them space).

I remember a walkthrough aviary where guests could pay money to feed lorikeets nectar. Of course, we need lorikeets in the game to do that :D

As far as I remember I saw a feeding session for the white rhino in Singapore Zoo. But I'm not sure this is really viable, cause I never saw other zoos do that.
Hmm, wait. Can giant tortoise feeding work?

I think I should only put Animals on the List that can be fed directly from the Hand, so I assume the White Rhino won't be added (If someone has Proof though that they can be Hand fed, I'd of course add them to the List). I think a Wildpark close to me also had the Possibility for Guests to throw Fruit/Vegetables into the Enclosure of their Eurasian Brown Bear. Not sure though if I remember it correctly.
I assume Tortoise Feeding might work. They would need to make them less shy though. I think they aren't even shy in Real Life. At least not as extreme as in the Game. Would it even make Sense for them to be shy? I assume adult Giant Tortoises don't have any natural Predators
Edit: from quick Research on YouTube I know that it is definitely possible to Hand Feed both Species of Giant Tortoise in the Game, so I'll add them to the List

Like this idea. Guests can get a happiness boost from feeding, and getting close to the animals. I guess Frontier could reuse the vending machine model to make "food dispensing stations" so you wouldn't even need a vendor.

So I did some extra searching, and rhino feeding session in Singapore zoo does uses direct hand. It's done by feeding some fruits or vegetables.
