Guests in Pronghorn and Bison habitat

Hi all,

I understand Pronghorns and Bison get a bonus together and guests can enter Pronghorn habitat but not Bison - has anyone managed to build a habitat with both species and walkthrough?

I saw something on Reddit about having an area that guests and Pronghorns can mix but using logs to stop the bison entering? The pronghorns can jump over the logs?

thanks for your suggestions!

Interesting idea! I haven't checked the hitboxes for bison vs. pronghorn, but it may even be that you can space the logs so that pronghorns can walk right through.

Thinking this might also work for other animals that can share space, but only one can be with humans, like kangaroos & koalas, tapirs and anteaters, or even springbok/thomsons gazelles and the rest of the African safari animals.

I suppose the key would be to make sure that the non-human part is large enough to fill all the space needs for all animals in the habitat, and then the walk through part would be additional.

Thats right. Guests can even enter the habitat from bears and cats, if only this Animals have no access to the walkpath from the Guests.
I guess, that is the mechanic that works for this safari tour car, where you can turn on this barrieres.

The Log Idea sounds good. But if you prefer to build realistic, it wouldn't be that good because Pronghorns are very territorial in Real Life 😉
I would like to see Pictures once it's finished

I have a shared Pronghorn/Bison habitat and made it a walkthrough. ... Well... that didn't work out like I wanted. Guests kept running away and I couldn't figure out why, until I had this crazy idea to check if the Bison could be in a walkthrough. Yeah. They can't, at least not the way I'd set it up. So I placed a glass barrier between the path and the actual enclosure, but I'm still toying with the idea of creating a way to confine bigger (dangerous) animals to a certain part so visitors can still technically walk through the habitat. Hm. Gonna work on that later today...

Very true you can watch several YouTube videos of careless people not respecting these animals space and paying the price for it.

To anyone reading this and wondering if the pronghorns can jump the logs in question, it occurs to me you might also be able to mount the logs vertically- sticking out of the ground. Doesn't look as natural of course, but the pronghorn hitbox should be narrower than the bison and they only need to be a few feet high.

I make most habitats "walkthrough" using the various methods above, even bears and the great cats, etc.
You just have to make sure that the animals can't get to the place where the guests walk. In the case of mixed species, you just have to make sure the dangerous animals are larger and se things up so that the bigger ones can't get where the guests are using any combination of fencing, trees, rocks, and other scenery and/or construction pieces.
It is important not to forget that juveniles of the dangerous species are smaller than the adults when setting this up though (or pause and adjust as soon as babies are born).

This may not be the effect you wanted, but having railing on ground paths apparently helps. I've tried it with Giant Otters and Baird's Tapirs
