I started a sandbox zoo recently and noticed some strange guest behavior.
After building an entrance area I placed the first enclosure a bit off to the side, the general idea being splitting the zoo by geographic regions. Guests started coming in, but at a certain point, about 100m or so in the park, they turn around and leave. Their happiness levels are still very much in the green, so there must be some sort of timer. Seems like if they don't see an animal after walking for a certain amount of time or distance, they just walk out.
So... is this a necessary feature? What is the benefit of having a rule like this in the game mechanics? It just seems to limit creative freedom in a game that emphasizes this, which is extra weird in sandbox mode. Also, the distance they walk did not even look that far. Do people just not build larger entrance plazas? (And again, it did not even look that big.) Would moving the entrance gates around help? Am I missing something here? I'd really like to hear some opinions on this.
