When dinosaurs are released guest are running away, which is ok. But when the bunker is open, they seem to follow only the pathways. As if there would be a sign, not to touch the lawn. Even if the shelter is 10m away, they tend to run towards the carnivore eating them, and making a 200m extra run on the pathway to follow the path into the bunker. This is a glitch in the game, and bunker entry's last waypoints should be rearranged by minimizing path distance.

Your not wrong about how it makes more sense to just run straight to the bunker, but in a crisis people have a strong tendency to panic. Panic leads to poor descision making, and the bigger the crowd, the more likely someone will run with the herd towards a trex rather than break out across the lawn towards safety alone.
