Guide to Story/Lore?

Sir - I feel your pain. I have tried to grasp the full extent of everything that is going on and it just keeps getting deeper!!! Cmdr Zaks posts on the formidine rift are great mind you if you have 5 hours of reading time available to sift everything.

to be honest all i have done is research mysteries of ED, since i played FFE on my first laptop i have had a need to solve even the smallest in game mystery. so i have some basic knowledge of barnacles and unknown ships, the formadine rift and the guardians ruins. but i feel like a NASA engineer using a rover on mars, you get a lot of pretty pictures and videos, but nothing beats actually being there hands on solving mysteries

Not 100% sure how relevant this is but remember with fondness the original Elite software.... nice presentation box, game on a number of floppy discs, a ship identification poster and a short novel on 'the story so far' regarding Elite.
Digital Downloads are not the same.
