Gunna need a helping hand

Hello fellow CMDR's, i have a million and one questions to ask, but firstly i need a helping hand. I have been hunting anacondas via USS missions (shooters wanted and such) and i seem to have gotten myself into a bit of a bind, my latests bounty got a very lucky first hit, im assuming with a plasma accelerator, and completely destroyed my thrusters, one hit, quite impressive i thought, and then proceeded to run away from the police and my useless self, now i am floating in space 98% hull intact everything else dandy, but i cant move or frame shift. I was simply wondering if there is some way someone could repair me or tow me back to station. i don't fancy spending 600k on self destructing considering that would be very counter productive.

You're pretty much boned. People can't bring repairs or anything like that.

You'll just have to kill yourself and respawn. Sucks :(

sorry mate, you have to self destruct, theres no way for other players to interact or give you anything currently. hope you have enough for insurance.

the only way, other than self destruct, out of your predicament is to get a very nice and patient fellow Commander to push you all the way to a station and then somehow manoeuvre you onto the docking bay within the time allotted.

In other words, no.

Sorry to hear that! I too have been left to suffocate in the void with destroyed thrusters, its not nice. Unfortunately self destruction may be your only option. If you have cargo you don't want to lose, you could jettison it & perhaps a friendly CMDR will agree to scoop it up and return it to you at your respawn station?

I was considering fitting an Auto Field Maintenance Unit for such situations, but I read that they cannot repair thrusters anyway.

oh well then, guess its time to man up and press the big red button, fortunately i can just about afford the re-buy, quite the setback though, wishing i hadn't just added that A class fsd and plasma accelerators.

This happened to a friend of mine when a group of us was out blasting anything that moved in an anarchy system. We found the best solution was to use him as a football as we tried to knock him into the sun.

OK, it was funny for us but I'm afraid the only option for you is to self destruct... Unless you have an autorepair system that might fix it?

Its an avenue of player interaction that really needs a look at and a trick missed in my opinion. So many people are wanting more human interaction and heres one on a plate. We must at some point be able to help our fellow man, beit by towing or bringing parts or fuel. I know life is cheap on the frontier but seriously, we wouldn't have got into space without some basic collaboration. How many more commanders must perish alone in the void whilst we stand by idly watching?

Yes, would be awesome to launch distress call beacons and float out there in a hope someone - be it an NPC or a player - will see an USS in supercruise, or Distress Call Signal in white triangle for that matter, so it could stand out. I would prefer USS though ))
