CQC Guys, shoot the leader, not me

Come on guys, I've only got 150 points from assists here. Leave me alone!!! Like when I'm dogfighting the 650 point leader and then another players shoots at ME, resulting in me dying and the leader getting those 50 assist points and the free victory. This happens all the time! I always chase the leader and some trigger-happy pew-pewer gets on MY six! All the time! What is his problem? Does he want to lose??? Just leave me alone already!!! And the worst part is when you respawn and the leader STILL has 14% hull and an extra 200 points. And FYI I'm NOT crying about losing 15 games to the same CMDR last night. I'm not!! I'm moved ****ing past that now! Okay?? Good! Here's a FREE TIP: If you shoot the leader, it's stops him from winning. So prioritise your targets! If the same guy is winning 6 matches in a row, gang up on him! Having your name plastered at the top of everyones screen should be a death sentence for the CMDR, so hunt that leader down and punish him for leading.
...
TLDR: Guys, shoot the leader, not me.

I see what you're doing here :) Whenever I see you in match I try to keep your frag count as low as possible, as you tend to get into hard competitive mode when you see that win is possible. I just try to increase my chances and that usually gives me 2-3 wins against you on occasion :D

But I must say that people do gank up if I win a couple of matches and then my win/loose ratio get back to low

It was you!! I used to panic when you joined my games. Now it's pursed lips and game face. Know that whoever wins the previous match will get put on my KOS list. Price you pay for winning games against me. Unfortunately most of those players outfly me and end up winning again. :(

Unfortunately it couldn't have been me - I wasn't able to get into any match last night - just waited and waited in lobby :( (or something really fishy is going on and it would explain why I can't get into games for so long)

Besides I can't be that bad - I loose about the same amount of matches I win. And when you get on my tail I don't think I was ever able to loose you :)

Just messin wit you. I dunno who it was. Probably those level 1 noobs cos I was whipping all their booties before the veteran showed up and put me in my place.

Maybe they are targeting your name? DANGER MOUSE? :p JK. I tend to target the Target closes to me.

I've noticed this as well that people scrap among themselves and leave the leader to pick off folk at their leisure. It's clever play by the leader as they can quickly rack up enough points to win the game early. I always try and target the leader where there is a choice, usually they are the best pilot and offer the toughest most rewarding target.

I am usually on the lead, but I did noticed other Cmdrs don't know how to pick their target half of the times they go for my prey. There are times when they get smart and gang up on me but only happens a rare occasions, usually, is my rival trying to catch up.

Example on how this tactic can be used in actual match:

We were going head to head with Commander Shoto and if I didn't use this tactic I would've lost this round

Looks more like playing a FPS than ED. Camping spawn points, powerups, just acting like a turret, weak ships for die/respawn gameplay, etc..every reason I gave up on FPS.

CQC is positioned as a virtual reality game within ED universe. Please don't take away this fast paced combat from me by chain-whining in every thread and making devs add the dreaded SCB solution. I already dropped playing main game (save for puzzles and secrets), because combat there became slug parade and other stuff is not yet up to par.

CQC is great and launching it after a few month break from the game I realized I actually missed the feeling of total movement freedom Elite no-assist flight model gives me. Which has never happened with any other game before (it's ridiculously cheesy, but true, so don't diss it :D). Now when I try main game it feels even slower than before in contrast to CQC.

It you haven't - try CQC Sidewinder - it may give you the right feeling of being strong enough to hold heaps of punishment and at the same time you can destroy others very fast. If you don't like this type of combat why don't stick to main game? Don't you find it interesting?

Why not shoot the leader yourself?

@nerdshowandtell. Turreting is a good way to get instakilled in CQC. People who dont die are the ones who stay moving and avoid circle jerks/joust matches which has been common practice up to this point. And to be frank, thats exactly why i hate Open. Every battle is the same.

Maybe once these structures present in CQC get larger and make their way to the core game maybe Open will become more than just a lame DPS vs Tank match.
