Community Event / Creation Gwen's all metal Scale Cobra MK III model

Aluminum is just a mis-spelling that got repeated often enough. If something is wrong, it doesn't matter how many times you repeat it - it's still wrong. ;)

Actually, remaining OT, this is incorrect. Sir Davy changed the spelling of this element not once, but twice, over a period of several years (Alumium -> Aluminum -> Aluminium). The prevalence of Webster's dictionary in the US at the end of the 19th century made the second spelling the popular one there, even though the rest of the international community had long settled on the third version. So it's not a misspelling, it's a lack of keeping up-to-date.

Back on topic; very interesting and impressive project, this! Accidentally found it while looking for ship schematics (no luck yet), but glad I did. This is just ridiculously awesome.

Dictionaries only reflect the language spoken by the majority. So if most people are saying "aluminum" then that's what goes in. It's why we have ridiculous made-up words like "selfie" in the Oxford English now. ;)

Late to the party on this one but as a scale modeller who has done a few scratch builds over the years, this is awesome.

This should get a special medal from Frontier.

For now +1 rep is all I can give.

Wow. Just wow - that's incredible. I wish I had such skills! Amazing build, Gwen, if you're still on this forum!
