Four! Four OMG! I've never managed that before ever.

So I'd not consider myself "that good" amongst the population of alphas but perhaps it does go some way to illustrate what a couple of months practice can do for you. Or maybe it's just gimbals vs fixed at work.

I don't have a gimbal laser yet.

It depends on how skilled the player is. I will suggest to anyone keep trying fixed weapons. Because you can have a faster kill rate vs gimbal weapon due to damage output.

So, first time I engaged a player today, he looked juicy as he had shields down and 50% hull. It ended up in frontal crash when he took all the credit and I got nothing

There are certain players, that if I see them in an instance, I'll jump to save my ship. They are *that* good - there'd be no contest against them given equal-ish ships. After Alpha 2, there was one guy I was 11-1 down against (and the one time I won, I waited till he was preoccupied with another player the offloaded a missile rack at him - so not really a fair or honourable victory), and two more who I was at 15-0 down against. Not that I was keeping score.

I don't like dog fighting in the Sidewinder, usually whoever gets the first shots in is going to win. It's much more fun in the Cobra, fights go on for longer.

Everything was reset when the premium beta came out yesterday so everyone starts out in a sidewinder. Unfortunately that means that a lot of these apparently very good sidewinder pilots are actually alpha backers who have had several months of practice compared to us poorer folks who were only wealthy enough to get in at premium beta stage.

I've used some pretty good tactics to drop people who get the jump on me. The old slam on the brakes and drop it in reverse works quite well...oops giving away more tactics lol
