It was a very nice dream. I was playing ED in the future when we finally got space legs and atmospheres. I landed in a futuristic city and got out of the ship.
The interesting part was the control scheme. Head movement and turning was classic FPS mouse control. Walking, though, was controlled by the throttle of the HOTAS as in the SRV and ranged from snail pace walking to full on running. Walking backwards was possible but very slow. I used the axis on the back of the throttle for a very limited strafing.
I know it felt wonderful because it was a dream but I can't help but wonder now, what will the control scheme be like when we finally get legs for real. I presume a standard FPS wasd + mouse look. While it was nice in a dream it would be far too tedious to have throttle for walking I guess
