Had some cargo space, bought some scoops, sold them, still have zero cargo space?

I know, I've been playing for almost a week and by now I should have been plugged in like Neo and downloaded all there is to know, but I haven't.

Why can I not have any cargo again? I guess it's something to do with internal compartments but that's a total guess. It might be that every 4th Tuesday in December they fill your cargo full of snakes and I'm the only one stupid enough not to naturally be aware of this.

I had a fuel scoop and we all know how that ended. So I sold that and now my ship is all full up of something. Any ideas gratefully received.

Did you sell your cargo rack? Check in outfitting or Modules, you need one of those to have any cargo space, and you can do away with it to have something else.

The ship panel on the right will also tell you, under cargo, what you are carrying and what your current maximum cargo space is.

You need to have cargo racks in order to have cargo space.

Selling items does not create more cargo space, You need to buy extra cargo racks.

you replaced your cargo rack with a scoop, then just sold the scoop when you should replaced it with another cargo rack.
