Had to re-install on Rift to get ED to load

I ran into problems launching ED on 8/15 - I launch through the Rift homepage.

Loader came up, then a black screen, then nothing.

I finally just bit the bullet and un-installed and re-installed. That worked.

Anyone else have this problem or was it just an issue on my PC? I thought it might be the Windows 10 Anniversary edition, but I also had a power outage the other day.

Just curious.

That's an oddity, haven't had that one pop-up yet. Did you still have audio, or was it a complete hang?

Nope. Nothing. Nada.

I had a similar problem with Mountain Goat. (Yeah, I know, but it is fun.)

Both worked after a re-install.

Display driver update by any chance? I get bad luck upgrading display drivers, I usually do clean driver installs now. DDU is a god-send.

Hmmm...

Yesterday (8-15), ED loaded and was fine on my monitor, but my HMD was dark. Restarted, unplugged HMD (both HDMI and USB), restarted, hit it with a hammer, cursed at it...nothing.

Reinstalled Oculus and everything came back.

Weirdness on 8-15 I guess. :p
