Has anybody come across HAFNIUM 178 before? 1 tonne of it was being transported in a T9 escorted by Anacondas, Fed Assault ships and vultures.

Well, presumably the 1 ton would include however it is being contained, any extra rad shielding required, etc.

Potentially. It's very impractical at today's tech level, but another millennium and a bit and we could learn to use it in gamma ray cascade bombs. I subsequently looked up the in-game text:

Hafnium 178m2, Hf, atomic number 72. This nuclear isomer has the potential to unleash enormous quantities of gamma radiation, making it an excellent ingredient for use in devastating weapons of mass destruction. As a result Hafnium 178 is a highly controlled substance that is universally illegal to own without special dispensation.

So yes. That stuff is monumentally bad news.

Sorry to Necro this thread but I'm wondering if anyone has seen Hafnium convoys recently?

For personal reasons I want to try and liberate some but wondered if it was still in game as I haven't seen any myself for a while.
