Haha, those evil critters! Pesky NPCs :D
How did they get me?

After arriving in the destination System, had a Persistent Deadly Python NPC announce himself to my "Space Cow" Type-9 holding 6.2M Cr worth of Palladium. Yeah, I get that.
As NPCs love to do - it plunged into the Sun within seconds after spawning.

With the usual grin on my face (Stupid NPCs - don't know how to circumnavigate a Sun *lol*) I continued my ~1000Ls trip to the Station.
I expected to see the Python back after the Disengage there, but being near the Station no sweat.

50Ls from the Station, I get interdicted... Oh well. Oh, it's not the Python. Imperial Eagle NPC. No sweat - I got lazors too, you can't scare me :D
Submit - Deploy hardpoints - twist around FA off, do your worst!

*PLOP*
Wait, what's that? A 2nd NPC now appears. But the Imp Eagle isn't in a Wing (?)
Imperial Eagle opens Fire.
I quickly toggle Contact to see who the new visitor is...

*ARG*
It's the deadly Python NPC of course! Imp. Eagle now in front of me & firing - now the Python directly behind me opens up too. I wasted my few, critical seconds to understand what was going on. Bad mistake.

Retract hardpoints, Instant 4/2/0 Pips, Boost, gotta run now. FAST.

Haha, no chance. 3x 0A boosted Shields @ 4 Pips can't handle both NPCs firing nonstop. Chaff has no effect anyway and they're <1.5km.
Can't shake them - hull surrenders to the intense fire within 15 Seconds. Ship eventually blows up at 140% heat due to its Engine not being able to handle both FSD charge and repeated afterburning :D

-----------------------
Lessions learned from that ~10M Cr event :
- I need to learn when it's time to drop some Cargo even for NPCs
- I need to learn when it's time to drop some Cargo even for NPCs
- I need to learn when it's time to drop some Cargo even for NPCs
- I need to learn when it's time to drop some Cargo even for NPCs
- I need to learn when it's time to drop some Cargo even for NPCs
- don't laugh at NPCs until the party is definitely over

:D

PS.
As evident from the Screenshots, I got insurance ;) ... Always good to have, saving for some V1.5 rides there.

Same happened yesterday: interdicted by a Cobra, then suddenly a python + Vulture jumped in too :-/
Lost about 18million... a wonder that my keyboard survived xD

"In space, NPC's can hear you laugh..."

Just wondering, why are you even carrying weapons on your T-9 Transporter? and if so, why not turrets?

I did have Turrets - but I saw the Class 2 Turrets suffer from their "bad aim" just once too often.
Just today (a few hours ago) I decided I'd ditch Turrets entirely and go all-in with Gimbals due to that.

It's just a fun Option vs. Small and Medium Ships - and on those they work reasonably well, even in a Space Cow *g*

PS.
My Anaconda is parked at home in full Mining Configuration - and I admit I was conducting "greed trades" in the Type-9 using only a 5A Shield Generator. Don't think a 6A would have made a big difference though ;)

Story just goes to tell that PvE isn't as harmless as it used to be.
Kinda ironic - but this very Type-9 even survived me taking it into a Player-occupied High Intensity Conflict zone just for kicks (arguably at 11% Hull after my ~2 Minutes of fame)

Oh well, it's back at 6A Shields now ;)

I didn't expect a T9 being less expansive than my FAS ... :D

Nice story :)

I got 96.5% Beta Backer Insurance :)

I don't even bother with them anymore. As soon as the interdict I do a 4-2-0 and boost away while choosing the closest system from the galaxy map. As soon as I have centred the destination I just hyper jump out and once my shields have recharged I re-plot my original destination. It has worked for me every time so far (touch wood). The only time I got a scare was when I got interdicted by a really big ship going by the sound of his guns. My shields were gone and I was down to 14% but still made it out and managed to land okay. As you can possibly guess, i'm a lover not a fighter. lol

Hehe, came up with a brief but quite fitting "Emotional states of being killed by NPCs" ;)

Phase 1 : Interdiction detected!

Phase 2 : Surprise, Surprise!

Phase 3 : New Plan!

Do NPC's react on a player dropping cargo?

Yes - I was interdicted in my Cobra by a pirate asking for cargo.

I thought - "I'm not carrying anything" So I checked - Cargo = 2 limpets.

So I dropped them (for a laugh).

Pirate "That's the cargo I'm looking for!" and he left me alone :p

Don'tcha just love NPC's? :D

I was in combat fitter Python, and I'm not proud of what happened :D Extra cookie to those who know this name.
P.S. Wing of two Elite FAS can actually hurt you.
