Hammerhead rounds for Railguns.

This suggestion somewhat defies the purpose of railguns being a module killer, but for a PvE I have this suggestion...

-A new Experimental effect is added for railguns, being Hammerhead rounds

- Essentially operates the opposite way as super penetrator, rather than hitting everything in it's path, this round will barley even penetrate the hull.

- The trade-off is that as a result of the penetration loss, the damage from the shot is directly translated to the hull. making it easier to kill ships with varying shot placement, however module sniping is impossible.

-These rounds also channel energy more effectively, and further enhance the displacement effect of railguns, almost akin to Force Shell for cannons.

-These shells rupture the hull (referred to as hull breach) gradually degrading it's resistance over time. much like the remote Release Flechette launchers or missiles.

These rounds will become particularly helpful in conflict zones, where enemies have received a super buff in resistances. whilst at the moment I find it overall more effective to snipe powerplants or thrusters, there could be another way of using this weapon with lethal results creating some variation.

Thoughts?

I don't understand the last point but I believe for PvE you will need 40 shots or more to kill a single ship. Rails don't have enough ammo for PvE. I'd imagine you will do better with everything else.

"hull breach" attacks gradually lower overall hull strength, the only weapons I have noticed that do this are the Flechette and missiles.

the damage could be increased by 50% or something, Rails actually have amazing damage! I just find often it is sunk into a module and does not effect the hull. Damage per ammo they are still much better than seeker missiles. it's just as I said, it gets sunk into modules most the time.

For Imperial Hammers, this could be a debilitating effect. given their higher damage output.

I quite like the idea of a damage increase for a trade off of a penetration decrease, or just increase the kinetic energy transfer to the other ship. Imagine hitting a eagle in the wing with one and causing it to spin out. Might be a little OP though so might not happen. Be cool though.
