Hand held weapons overhaul inc mod swapping.

With Odessey having been out a long time now and engineering being overhauled, surely its about time to consider changing the fact that once a weapon has had a modification placed on it, it can never be changed. It seems very odd system that if a player installs a mod that doesn't work the way they imagined, or perhaps wasn't has useful was they had thought, that weapon is essentially trash and one has to start from scratch in order to correct this, it seems grind for the sake of grind on that, especially since ship mods and engineering can be changed. I was of the impression that Frontier were keen to move away from grind for the sake of it?

Also, looking at the litterally thousands of videos and reviews online, it seems that the Plasma based weapons are the only weapons players actually use, with the Kinectic and Laser weapons being firmly sent to the junk pile, with the possible exception of the rocket launcher, but even then its 99% plasma.

Finally, a brand new idea could be some type of stun weapon for players that want to immbolise NPCs but not pick up a murder bounty, or the none violent missions. Stun could last say 10 mins, more when engineered?

Stunning and then killing unconscious NPC has higher age rating than just killing.
That would put it into PEGI-18 instead of current PEGI-16.

Base game (Horizons) is PEGI-7, I believe.

Mod swapping would render Ody engineering obsolete. No one would do it, they'd just stock up on pre-engy gear and assemble whatever they wanted. Mod removal is more likely.

I fully engineered a 4 mod suit from scratch yesterday (turns out adding random PP NPCs makes having Long Range Scans more useful, go figure :D )

Took less than a day.

Having both mat fountains and mod edits would make even that trivial amount of effort vanish.

Easy fix: It's the future. Make it so guns won't fire against an unconscious person. :p

So killing someone is 16, killing them if they are unconscious is 18, but killing someone whose ship you just crippled and they are hanging on for dear life is 7? :ROFLMAO:
