Which is very.... Very small and beginning to dwindle.
I do not.... Repeat, DO NOT want to trade in order to obtain a bigger ship that is above an ASP or trade to simply fit and stay afloat in an ASP. I keep skipping the same "go here and kill this many for *insert a stupid, insultingly low reward*". Ya, like im dumb enough to incur 40k+ in warrants for a reward of 15k credits.... This isnt even including the USS roulette timesink.
Why do missions have to be so random... why can we not sort missions or at least have seperate tabs for trading/combat/courier/transport/retrieve and fill those tabs with more missions and stuff. And also, where are the military economies.... This might be of interest to fellow mercs but apparently it has yet to exist.
Its already been proven and mostly common knowledge that even though there are no jump gates, its still rooms in space..... Reaallly big rooms, but still rooms. So why exactly are there no instances featuring pirate bases and fringe societies in roid belts. Im talking architecture, debris, ruins. Stuff to look at, fly into, around, use as cover, or interact with that ISN'T simply a rock. Small to medium scale special instances could rely on a mission to be generated. Where as large scale and beyond are permanent fixtures that stay in that location. I find it very hard to believe that a multi system sub faction doesnt have their own base of operations where only those of like mind or strong sense of justice would venture.
Back to missions. Idc about voice overs or if an npc is depicted by a model inside a chat window that shrugs an blinks every 15 seconds. What i care about is substance and the feeling of accomplishment. Combat missions as a whole (except high reward assassinations) are not challenging, they dont reward well, and they all rely on dropping out of SC in the middle of nothing thats generated at random. This equals a whole lotta effort for a whole lotta nothin. Basically, take the proven methods of game pacing from the last 15 years in history along with risk/reward mentality and cram it into Elite. Its really hard to reinvent the wheel but you can definitely make it spin faster and look alot cooler.
