Happy with the Game.

Grew up playing Elite on the Acorn all the way through the BBC (Master B!!! :D ) to C64, even dabbled with Oolite, just want to say i'm happy where the game is now.

Yes there are grinding aspects, repetition and some things i don't like whilst some very good points and a feeling of achievement having earned success against the odds. But enough about my daily job back to ED. :D

If i wanted a thrill a minute game with no real satisfaction or acheivement, i'd get some PS3 action on, but i enjoy the relaxation and challenge ED gives me, i learnt skills in the original game, even about Logistics that have stood me in good stead since i started having to work for a living. Ideally i'd like a job with no risk and if i messed up work would pat me the head and give me a Bonus for having suffered sadly life isn't like that and neither should this game be....

You want rewards, you work for them, dealing with what every structure or process is in place, if you can improve things for the benefit of everyone suggest it and see how other people feel rather than whinge constantly about how unfairly you've been treated.
Actions and their consequences are important you have to consider the risk and pay the price if the numbers go against you, that's how life works.

Sorry but so tired of all the whinging on here about everything, we can make it great if we all work together in a positive manner, it's called Team work and realism of expectations not having the world handed to you on a plate...

Couldn't agree more. Almost a year now since Premium Beta, and I still love the game. Still pinching myself sometimes on those long trips into the void when I'm wondering whether this universe is for real. Can't wait for the things to come.

I’m just a frustrated original BBC & Acorn player. Frustrated you all cry, why yes!
In that I cant play the god dam game that is sitting in the store after backing the game on KS due to an ancient PC Nov 2004 build. Used more or less every day but its not plyed games since 2007-8 I think.

Can’t wait to load up for the first time and be back in Elite. God the hours spent in dark bedrooms as a kid in the Cobra. One thing you do realise reading some of the reviews is we as players back then excepted we had to make our own story and not be spoon fed. We used our imaginations and we were better for it.

So until the end of the year and Win10 and that new Rig I’m just watching twitch and following the development.

We'll see you then when you get chance to join us, it's worth the wait. :)

I was a BBC Micro player too and I love where it's gone with ED.

The only thing I miss is the fear and dread of the Thargoids. They used to scare me. That moment when the attack came in 'Witch Space' used to freak me out. It seems now the only thing to be 'wary of' now is.... nothing.

I hope to see some freak-on again in future updates'
