Hardcore gamers

To Much Hardcore and there will be Nocore. When this game is reviewd on final release and then say"Hardcore spacegame for Hardcore space nuts" how many people will be interested.

You may say you do want anyone in the game who is not a hardcore space nut.Well scare too many people away there will be no money to further fund the game. The burden of funding will fall on the people who wish to contine playing the game.I agee games where harder in the past but living in the past will kill this game.

Squadron Leader It's perfectly ordinary banter, Squiffy. Bally Jerry...pranged his kite right in the how's yer father...hairy blighter, y-birdied, feathered back on his Sammy, took a waspy, flipped over on his Betty Harper's and caught his can in the Bertie.
Bovril No, I'm just not understanding banter at all well today. Give us it slower.

<Raises Hand> Me.

(and this game isn't 'hard-core', you want a decent mil sim for that ;) )

Someone said that?

Well scare too many people away there will be no money to further fund the game.

I thought the game was pretty well funded already?

I agree games where harder in the past but living in the past will kill this game.

I see a lot of posts with people saying this or that will kill the game. The reasons given are always a sophistry. Nothing to back it up but opinion.

It's worth remembering the original game was a popular smash hit advertised in cinemas by Stanley Baxter and mostly played by 12 year-olds.

hardcore?

its getting to be a broken record but ITS A BETA NOT A GAME (yet)

there is still a lot of balancing and tweaking to do, and a fair few game mechanics to add, you may find come gamma some users complaining that things are too easy!

no game will ever please everyone, but so far this game is pleasing me and a whole lot of other people. wait and see what the gamma release hold THEN you can complain if things are too hardcore, until then there isn't much point.

Is playing a game where have actually learn and practice what you are doing to be good hardcore these days? I suppose... still, Darksouls was a success. ;)

I'm not what you would call a hardcore space sim nut. Played X3 for a while if that counts and played x-wing-tiefighter back in the day. But there is a lot of interest in ED as far as I can see. I cant see frontier changing the game just because they might get scared that it will only appeal to hardcore space sim nuts.

Thats about 5kb that the internet will never get back.

Its not that hardcore. Its just not the type of game you would find on Facebook.

Its a proper game.

On a scale.

Super Casual - your nanas a pro
Casual - your little sisters a pro <----- this is what gamers have been shoveled the past few years by publishers like EA and mobile phone games with the ultimate aim to reach Super Casual so nobody on the planet is put off.
Average - It has a learning curve but you dont need a manual and you soon get the hang of it. <----- this is where Elite fits in. How games were before the Wii and the dumb down generation.
Hardcore - I spent hours to learn this.
Super Hardcore - I spent hours to learn this and I still dont know what I'm doing.

Players have had their hand held that much, when something comes along that requires them to let its panic.

This Game is NOT Hardcore, not even CLOSE. Move along casual.

Participating in a beta is pretty hardcore. Casual and average market generally dont come in at this level. By doing so they cant really be considered that casual if they want in on a beta.

I think thats possibly part of the problem with all these confused casuals. Beta is more hardcore than finished game.

This game isn't hardcore and gets easier every patch.

Disappointing in many ways.

Game is too easy, it needs to be Dangerous and harder.

Turning into Elite:Easy

My point was about people coming into the game without experiane of the game.Compaired to a lot of more modern games i have played this is pretty Hardcore.I am enjoying the game at the moment but i dont know the modern gaming public will view the game. I think its a game with a very small market that may not be a good situation for the long term life of the game.

All games you have never played before require some bit of learning.

The more depth the more learning.

I dont know what people are finding so hard to be honest.

Take off - Fly your spaceship - Land. Repeat. :)

Any question anybody has with the game can be answered in 1 sentence or a few words.
