Hardpoints Deployed/Retracted

Please could we get something on the HUD to inform us whether we have our hardpoints deployed or retracted please? It's not always apparent on some ships and with some smaller modules.

It's really frustrating pressing the Frame Shift Drive or Jump buttons only to be told that your hardpoints are still out.

Not that I disagree with the request, but aren't the firing groups highlighted on the UI, when the hardpoints are out?

If you see the firing groups, they're out, if there are no firing groups, the harpoints are retracted.

Well, we do have this for landing gear and the cargo hatch so it doesn't seem unreasonable, although the process of "oops", push button to retract and spool up FSD isn't the most onerous.

If anything I'd rather have a visible coodown timer for the SCO first.

Like I said above. It depends on what you're flying. I'm currently flying a DBX and I don't have any weapons on it and I'm in Analysis mode. I have no way of knowing.

You get a message saying they're retracted or deployed in the Info panel, but this message disappears. It's not always apparent.

Like the one I suggested?
Why does it need to be either/or? Why can't we have both?

It would be good to make it one of the status indicators at the top of the right block.

Also if this might help, there is an option to turn off the "pulling/pressing fire button deploys hardpoints", so that the hardpoints don't deploy unless I push the hardpoints deploy/retract button.

Thanks for the reply and the tip about the hardpoints retracting :)
