Summary
System: Arque
Station: Austen Town Station (Coriolis starport, large pads available, 588 Ls from main star, 98.02 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Deliver Coral Sap, Impure Spire Minerals and Semi-refined Spire Minerals
Time limit: 8th February 3310 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
Aegis is urgently requesting deliveries of Thargoid spire site materials to Professor Ishmael Palin in the Arque system.
The alien minerals are needed for vital research based on a new theory by the engineer Ram Tah. His research has suggested a method of defeating the Thargoid Titans, although details of the proposal remain classified by Aegis.
Professor Palin, the leading expert in Thargoid biotechnology, explained the initiative:
I am confident that Ram Tah's theory holds water, and we are working together on its practical applications. There are no guarantees as yet, but we could be on the cusp of developing a weapon with which to engage the Titans.
However, such a weapon must be able to function within the Maelstroms’ electromagnetic fields, which disrupt all Guardian-based technology. I am developing a resistant armour using the organic compounds produced by Thargoid spire sites.
Aegis has cautioned pilots that operating within the spire sites is highly dangerous, and that they are likely to encounter Thargoid vessels as well as defensive drones. Anti-xeno strategist Aden Tanner commented:
I won’t pretend to understand all the science behind Ram Tah and Palin’s work. But what little I’ve seen made me feel something very rare these days: hope. There’s never been a more crucial time for everyone to rally together, and perhaps help us achieve the impossible.
Deliveries of coral sap, impure spire minerals and semi-refined spire minerals can be made at Austen Town Station in the Arque system.
As an additional incentive, paint jobs will be offered to qualifying participants. These rewards are cumulative.
Top 75% of contributors:
  • Alliance Challenger Cyclops paint job
Top 50% of contributors:
  • Alliance Crusader Cyclops paint job
Top 25% of contributors:
  • Federal Corvette Cyclops paint job
The campaign begins on the 1st of February and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.
To earn rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering coral sap, impure spire minerals and semi-refined spire minerals to Austen Town Station in the Arque system.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Austen Town Station is at planet New Caledonia

Now I’m curious whether this armor will have any downsides compared to the traditional choice of military grade composites for most builds relating to Thargoids… although I suppose it would largely only matter for those who are looking to engage in combat around a Titan, and elsewhere that Glaives are present.

Kietrax mistyped (from copy/paste a previous CG probs).
EDIT for those who missed it end date was 8 October.

Darn it though - I was prepared for Relics and Grelics gathering to help (or add-to) Ram Tah stock, but haven't even been to a spire site.
Got an Enhanced AX Krait II ready with SRV - any further suggestions? (not got ODY yet either, so no FPS interest)

EDIT2 - are any of these available in Horizons with SRV or do I need ODY??

Dormant systems should be best for farming I think. Someone should tell Aegis they are low risk. I wonder if fdev will notice, because the targets seem quite low without the risk of active sites to contend with. I guess we'll see :)

Perma-light dormant systems:
Hyades Sector NT-I b9-4C 3
HIP 22350A 4

edit: HIP 22350 is in an Alert system so no FCs (still dormant though), other one seems fine for FCs. As long as you're fast.

If you plan to use the limpet 'scoop' method then you probably want lowest G (might be dark):

Ceti Sector BQ-Y b48 b
Trianguli Sector BA-A d8515 b
HIP 256541 b
HR 1358AB 9 e

Either play in solo or bring caustic sinks due to the Orthrus killers likely being around. But once you’re at a spire site and nobody sabotages it(which is the primary reason I would go into solo for it, though Orthrus death clouds also are a good one), the main threat comes from Banshees and Revenants if you try to roam the surface near barnacles.

(So it may well be simpler to just go around collecting coral sap instead of the minerals.)

From what I was reading earlier, you need to leave your ship after landing on one of the 'petals' to get what's needed.... I could have been reading it wrong though, never done this kind of stuff before.

Any Tips on collecting spire materials solo (other then get friends)?
I ventured to a spire site a couple weeks back to try and do contamination missions and the patrols (especially the big ones) would start shooting at me before I could even see them :( Are we supposed to kill them before going in? if so which weps are effective? tactics?

I think the minerals needed are all from the surface, (the petals one is something else and does require on foot)
If I recall, the Sap is found on the roots looking thing, and the Impure hangs from the ceiling of the gazebos looking structures, both can be shot and collected with SRV.
Semi-refined one required using the overload tool on foot to overload 2 nodes which drops the protection and allows shooting the semi refined mineral free, also at the gazebos.

I collected almost 2k before at a dormant site with a flak anaconda similar to farming meta alloys with limpets, except you need corrosive resistant racks and more flying around to clear out all the sap clusters.
I've done Meta Alloys farming and have CRCR's but a Flak Anaconda? whick flak do you need? Is it to free up the Sap before Limpets?

Yeah the flak is to free up the sap, I'm using a conda because it fits the most CRCR easily while still having room for an universal limpet controller. I do have size 5-6 CRCR availible which might change the calculation for some.

I suspect the armouring that was mentioned was for the weapon, not the ship. "such a weapon must be able to function" .. "I am developing a resistant armour"

I hate to be that guy...
But - does anyone know what the Cyclops paint job looks like?
Or is it a brand new one?
(Or am I blind?)
