Has anyone bough rift direct from Oculus?

Yes. Ordered in mid-July and took about 3 weeks to arrive. Oculus was backed up because of the Rift special bundle offer. All good though and happy with the purchase.

I ordered from them on the 18th of July, but for a week or so there was no change to my order status. It just said 'Order Status - Order'.
I emailed them and they told me that due to stock/demand there would be delays etc, but they assured me that they would be getting new stock in through August. They also suggested that it may be quicker to cancel with them and then order through a retail partner.
So that's what I did. I cancelled my order with Oculus, then ordered through Amazon.co.uk (who just had them back in stock) and it arrived in a few days.

I have got the £400 deal price on rift and touch also.
One additional question, were there any addition charges. It's just the wording of their reply email seem to say additional cost might be added.

Yes I did buy one through Amazon, but it broke after 1 day.

So returned it and got money back. Maybe I should have gone for a replacement. 😏

When I tried to buy again it was out of stock so I tried Oculus directly. So I'll stick with it for now.

No recent experience, i actually pre-ordered last year, but the order was processed fast, on schedule and delivery went without problems. When i ordered the Touch Controllers, the experience was the same. So far no problems woth oculus orders at all.

I ordered the rift two or three weeks ago. It arrived via the Netherlands to the UK in around a week. At that time Currys (uk supplier) were sold out. So I expect Oculus can not ship them fast enough at the moment due to the summer offer.

I ordered mine on 19 July, it changed to "processing for shipping" on the 7th Aug, shipping on the 09 Aug and it should arrive tomorrow (11 Aug) :)

I did exactly the same thing. Ironic that the Oculus store can't supply their own product, when Amazon seem to have plenty!

I did a few weeks ago when the latest bundle was released (headset + controllers + extra sensor), and it was finally shipped/delivered this week.

Yes, but at what price? The cheap offer price is not available.
I tried to order from Amazon first at the offer price and they reset order amount to zero with option to be notified when more were available.

Looks like they are aware that people have been having a hard time getting the bundle so they are extending the sale. https://t.co/hmcRV9LHNX Sounds like the newer orders are going to be missing the Xbox controller and the Oculus remote but its still a pretty good deal.

This news is two+ weeks old. ie: The super duper bundle (headset + controllers + extra sensor + wifi usb adapter + xbox contrller) ran out, and then they released there official new bundle (headset + controllers + extra sensor).

The new bundle was announced two weeks ago but they just announced yesterday that they were extending the sale. It was originally suppose to end next week.

I ordered the bundle on the 26th July, and didn't hear anything until the 8th August, an email which states my ordered is being handled, and they will send an email when it has been sent. So going after the experiences of others, I've still got at least a week before I can look forward to opening a package.:(
