You sure? The sale being the new bundle at that price?
The original sale started on july 10 with the old bundle (2 boxes) for $399. They had planned on introducing this all in one new bundle (rift+touch in one box) after the sale ends (about 6 weeks later). There was no firm date for the sale to end but I'm guessing the 6 week number was an estimate of how long they thought it would take to sell through their old rift + touch stock and replace it with this single box. To their surprise they pretty much ran out of stock in about 2 days (amazon prime day helped accelerated that even more) and had to move up the introduction of the new rift bundle (single box). They announced the new bundle on July 14 but by this point everything was backordered. They ramped up production and officially released the new bundle on August 7 I think. However, many that ordered as early as July 14 may have already gotten the new box. They've pretty much caught up to demand now. Retail stock is still in high demand with occasional supply shortages but I believe with the ramp up in production they are able to resupply much faster. If you see a retailer show "out of stock" they should usually get more in within a day.

Bought Rift + controllers in one combined pack (very smart box) from Amazon for £400 at beginning of week, arrived yesterday, all installed now and seems to be working correctly.
