Has anyone given any thought about what ship you’ll be using in Odyssey for land-based missions?

Do you want to be seen walking out of something like an ugly brick? Or be seen walking out of something stylish?
There is only one correct choice .... An Imperial Cutter

Everyone's aesthetic is different. I like my brick.

Speculating on unknown scenario.
I'll wait and see in alpha.

Yeah, there are many unknown variables. That's why I have thrown in a few whatifs in my T-10 ground effect prototype build. Might even go for Alpha to try it out.

Answer the Call: 2021.

Thats Gordon level

I think a niche of small ships with good jump range become popular among commanders who want to role play a Mandalorian type character.

Do you plan on using small, medium, or large ships? Something fast and agile or something bigger that can dish out and take a beating? I’m also curious if having a fighter available may have its uses. Should we bring along two SRV’s? Each ship will have an added dimension to it’s purpose or role.

Any thoughts?
What, no drop ship? You don’t even need shields, that thing has serious hull strength.

I'll be using my Type 10. I'm not one for sneaking around and being subtle. I can just imagine the chatter amongst the security guards on some distant world that I have to do a stealth mission at: "Hey Fred? Ya Joe? Was there there always a big fortress over there behind the outhouse? Nah, I don't think so, Joe. Maybe we should take a peek....."

Back from the dead (offline) for Odyssey...

Lot of new ships in the game. I engineered a Krait Phantom and am getting used to the looks. she moves like the python should move.

So, phantom for me.

I'm thinking of flying an eagle.

Partly because it's a fast ship, partly because it'll fit in small pads, assuming Odyssey has small pads on the ground, but mostly because when
I get out of the ship for the first time I can shout "The Eagle has Landed."

Greetings,

OP what are Odyssey land based missions? We don't know. Are you as a single player going to run around in a spiffy new environment suit with a possibly a hand held version of a rail gun (hopefully purchased with ARX not added to our 120 limit of ship stored toys) to take out say a planetary ++ secure system? Could you even take out two Sentinels guarding a crashed satellite you come across on a planet versus a SRV that does this well? Are you going to have an Elite NPC pilot flying your ship while you run around for cover?

When I say you it is not about the OP but about any player going alone in Odyssey without some assistance. Now we come back to multi-crew, squadrons, friends and others on popular comm sites like Discord and TeamSpeak. Have you made alliances?

Those initial videos of Odyssey showed two players walking around with a lot of overhead ship support. Who is the other player? Who are flying those other ships? Frontier is not going to give us the answers.

To max out all the Engineers one had to play a little of every play style in the game. Many hated that. Maybe when Odyssey arrives one will have to play with others to be effective. Just my guess but if correct the ship you fly won't matter. Prepare for Odyssey...

Regards

My beloved beluga, fitted por exploration with fun, and carrying 4 SRVs

If one day we are going to be able to land in SLFs, also ready with one hangar for them.

I hope some day also I can be seeing the galaxy through the glazed roof of my Beluga's Promenade :)

All multicannon FAS with pair of dumbfires, because of all that dakka. Used that when ground skimmer stacking was a thing, and plan on it being my odyssey drop ship.

I'll either be using my Cobra MkIV for anything requiring a smaller ship, my newly engineered Crusader and its SLF for more dangerous scenarios that the Cobra can't handle, with everything else falling to the Goldenmember.

Every small hardpoint on the Cobra and Crusader has a G4 high capacity, overload munition, advanced missile with an ammunition count of 15/116 per rack, with 16/128 G5s on the Goldenmember.

Anyone who happens to be outside when I start raining justice is going to have a very bad day. 😎

Day one bug..."only left leg works and everybody's ship iRregardless of model reverts to a sidewinder, Azure paint jobs display grayscale, hud is still orange, multi-crew (old bug returns) and t poses abroad".
