Has anyone had atmospheres disappear after scanning them?

It has happened to me now twice, both of where were on planets no one has discovered previously. The atmosphere was there pre-scan and then it disappears post-scan. I tried it again, but this time a Commander had passed through the system, but I scanned anyhow. That time the atmosphere stayed.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has encountered something like this. I'm going to keep watching now that I see something strange taking place. o7

If I didn't know any better I would think that you are uh severely incapacitated.


Imagining an atmosphere disappearing is very interesting.
I'm glad it came back.

I think you should open a detective agency specializing in wayward atmospheres.

I have tracked this down to the Modes. If you map a planet full and are in Discovery Mode, then the atmosphere goes away and appears to be related to that blue effect on the planet. When you switch to Combat Mode the atmosphere comes back. Feature? Bug? Mystery? Do I not know something? (can be the case with a lot)

Below is the same planet, same location and just different modes. Bizarre.
