Has anyone had / managed to solve this "Failed to read from response stream" with today's update?

"Failed to read from response stream" with today's update S O L V E D !

And yes, I've sent them a ticket. But I feel like playing now, not in a week's time when/if they respond.

People, I've made it!

You'll have to tick Atlernative Download method in the launcher, and in my case it was enough to to this:

• Go to the start menu and type 'Internet Options'
• Open the Internet Options dialogue
• On the General tab, under Browsing History, click Delete...
• Tick 'Temporary Internet files and website files' and 'Cookies and website data'
• Click Delete

If that's not enough, Shadragon the Magnificent has produced this:

I get the same thing whenever i try to update but it says instead "update failed for file "C:\Users\name\appdata\local\frontier_developments\products\elite-dangerous-64\win64\data.ovx" *(validation error)

Nope, hasn't worked for me. Alternate method of download produced the download indeed, but the authentication failed again.

Had the same problem this morning. Used the alternative download which got me in game but have had nothing but problems since. Listed some of them in my post titled Lost in Space. Hope you have better luck than I.

In some cases you may need to clear the cached files for Microsoft .Net:

• Go to the start menu and type 'Internet Options'
• Open the Internet Options dialogue

• Click Delete

Strangely enough, my wife says exactly the same thing when I kill a big hairy spider in the tub.

The deleting of IE Temp files is what I was referring to above. Will be more specific next time. Glad it worked out.
