Has Combat Zone NPC Behaviour Changed?

While at Gandii doing the CG last night in a low CZ, I found that the NPC fighters now clump much more together and operate in a much more co-ordinated fashion making it tougher going in CZs now. Is this just my perception or have other people found the NPC behaviour to have changed as well? After a couple of visits to the CZ on planet 9, I found that it wasn't like shooting fish in a barrel any longer and my earning rate was at least half to a quarter of what it was before because of this 'Ganking' behaviour of the NPCs now (typically between 3 and 6 ships on your 'six', most of the time while engaged with one of them).

I'd like to hear other peoples experience and perceptions... :)

first multicrew CZ last night - we found it easier than normal in a high CZ - fewer railguns I think was the main contributor. we also pulled down less aggro than normal.

1) take high CZs over low CZs (in lower there are less ships around meaning also that's less allies around therefore you get a lot more attention)
2) don't use too much high-alpha-damage weapons. right. don't overgun your allies, otherwise you will get seen as highest threat (what you are) and therefore be ganked (as an absolutely legitimate tactic).

(this is from 2.2 behavior, haven't taken part in a 2.3 CZ yet, but I think these two guidelines still apply...)

I've heard of the lesser railgun ships in CZs, but wasn't that for the SB nerfing?? So again ;-) only half things?
