Has Flight Assist Off been removed? (Replaced by "Roitational Correction"?)

NEVER MIND, my mistake. Wrong key press (doh).

I would delete/lock this thread, but only moderators seem to have that power.

Actually what's the point in Rotational Correction? It seems to simply stop the engine sound for convenience. Or as it is described, does it only work when inside rotating stations to help move you with it? It's not clear as when you goto the exit you must turn again to align. I'm totally lost. I mean, why 3 keys for SC and Jump when you can do it all with 1 key? I'm lost on that too.

My understanding with the rotational correction is that, instead of the station turning around you, you rotate ccw with it when you are inside. It doesn't mean you are always aligned with the docking port, but that you will keep whatever orientation you have. This means that when you are landing, the pad won't spin out from under you as you hover over it.

I also actually like the separate keys for SC and Hyperspace. I don't use it often, but there are cases where I want to go to SC when I have another star system selected (as opposed to straight jumping to it). There is one key that does both - that is what the engage FSD bind is for. It will jump you when an interstellar target is selected, or it will put you in SC if not.

Cool thanks. I've retried it from launching from the dock and yes when OFF it spins independant. Yet it does make no use once outside apart from being very noisey and pointless. I can create a macro for doc/launch involving Landing Gear/Lights/RC. It should have also shown power usage plus generate less heat if off. Silent Runing is the generate less radar heat yet it builds cabin heat up very fast indeed!

Actually by not switching Rotational Correction OFF is like driving at night with the interior lights on or leaving wipers on after not raining. It isn't seemingly implemented in any procedure yet should be unless you love the sound of the engine. I do and play loud with speakers but there should be a power saving benifit to switching it OFF as it surely is wasting fuel to thrusters to function (but not yet).

I confirm, each time I use Silent Running to practise a smuggle test run I always get scanned. I think it's only speed over timing to get in and nothing to do with SR.
