Was just reading on reddit about how system colonisation ships move back and forth between claim systems and colony systems, and that this essentially created 16K megaship jump events (or whatever the number of new colonies was x2) in the single week where we had the feature active, on top of whichever transactions the servers had to take care of regularly...
