Hardware & Technical Has someone a graphiccard to offer? :)

To prepare for the 2.2 update, i think it would be best if i give my PC another upgrade on graphics.
Currently i'm running a GTX770 with 4gb ram.

My other hardware is
-AMD Phenom 2 X4 processor 3.2ghz (quad)
-Mainboard unknown :D
-8gb ram
-windows 7 home premium 64bit

Which advices would you give for a decent graphic card for a medium budget or which one does someone have to offer?

Would be glad about every response

GTX 970 or even 960 are ok.

A GTX 960 probably will not give much if any increase in my experience. We have a 670 and a 960 and cannot see any great differences. So I would say a 970 would only see a small improvement. Probably better to see if the budget stretches to a 1060.

Edit, I see you say $500, then NewEgg has 1070 for ~450 free shipping.

Motherboard info,
Win 8 or 10 - Windows key + X > run > type msinfo32 (or copy and paste)

Earlier Windows - All Programs > Accessories > System Tools, then select the System Information utility.

Hope that helps.

For Frontier, you are very good with GTX 770. Otherwise, for your budget you find GTX 1070 for 500 euros. GTX 1070 is much more powerful than GTX 970 and consumes less power. I do not think that your Phenom will be much cpu limited. In all cases with a GTX 1070, you are for the future

I experienced very hard problems during a ground base assault. I have the settings al at medium to high and can play most with smooth 60 fps but on ground bases it falls down to 10 fps!! All regulations to low settings brought it only up to 20 fps at bases so i thought this is a problem only a better graphic card can solve.

I have already an eye on the gtx 1070 but wanted first to ask here a bit if maybe someone upgreded in the last tim and has now something between to offer^^

With the 1070 you are quiet for a few years

All wrong, in my opinion.

The GPU itself is perfectly fine. I think you would see a better performance increase by upgrading the processor. The 770 will be getting massively bottlenecked by it and upgrading the GPU to something better is not going to help that.

As for upgrading the GPU, something I would only do after upgrading the motherboard, processor and RAM, your best bet would be the 1060 (6Gb). It provides a definite upgrade to the 770 (the 960 is roughly on par with the 770) and it's only £30 to £50 more than a 970 for GTX 980 level performance.

Now, that said, if you can, post your Dxdiag report up and we can tell you what can be done with your current system. Providing it's motherboard is AM3 or AM3+ socket based this is actually quite a bit. The right processor upgrade will provide Core i3 to low end Core i5 levels of performance.

Failing that, around £350 will buy a motherboard, 16gb of ddr4 and a mid level skylake core i5 processor.

Either route would be better than upgrading your card at the moment.
