Yesterday, I experienced a crash in Franchise as well as in Challenge mode. When I looked at the saves, I found that there were no recent autosave files. I usually save manually during the game, this has practically become second nature. In that case, even manually saved games have disappeared. But it’s possible that I was just too involved in the game to save in between.
The interesting thing is, though, that in Franchise, I had sold lots of grizzlies and also a couple of lions on the market. After opening the day-old saved game, my storage was overflowing with animals (~50) and stuffed with juveniles. It looks like all the animals I sold before had come back at the age they were in the old saved game.
This zoo might be doomed since it crashed again during my efforts to empty the storage to make space for fighting bears and lions. I’ll see tonight what the current status is since I definitely manually saved this time.
But the worrying part is that I didn’t have any autosave games. Were there again server issues that would have prevented autosaves? Are autosaves saved only in the cloud and not additionally on the computer? That would be really bad.
