Has the Danger in Elite Dangerous returned with 3.0?

Has the danger returned with 3.0? When I first started playing this game I would take a mission and there was a danger that I would be interdicted and have to fight or submit. Later it was nerfed so that there was absolutely no danger in these missions.

I haven't kept up with all the changes in the past 6 months. Is the open universe dangerous again?

I had not one but TWO NPC pirate interdictions going ~500Ls in-system for a single mission. And they were rando pirate NPCs not the "Incoming Enemy Alert" variety.

That's two more than I usually have, so yeah I'd say so.

Still fairly possible to easy to evade most npc interdictions. Although taking on missions where it says hostile ships may be sent pretty much guarantees an interdiction after entering a new system and cruising to target destination.

..about the same number i've had in my entire ED career, to be honest.

Mind you, i took an iffy high-paying mission earlier and got totally ganked by AI - like armies of psycho mercs coming at me in relentless waves, fighting off half a dozen at a time, i lost count of 'em, proper intense CQB, oldskool style:

..but then, i was actually playing Elite. I had ED updating in the background, but somehow never got round to launching it..

LOL, "Elite: Dangerous"... at least they've got a sense of irony eh..

The lack of challenge in this game is what's making me lose interest.
We've got the tools for super capable ships, but hardly anything to use them on. Lol

I've resorted to learning to use small ships again. Like the good old days! Big ships made me lazy.
I need to re-git-gud.

Same! I got back in my old iCourier, engineered it for crazy speed and decent hull, dropped the shields, nice lick of paint. I'm having so much fun just trying not to die! :p

Try taking out mini thargoids in a Cobra Mk4

I have not seen any mission targets from incoming enemy alerts since 3.0.

These used to be frequent, fun, and decently paying, but I would say the danger has been nerfed.

On a side note, there are now wing assassination missions which can be very tough.

Not really from my perspective doing a data delivery mission and got interdicted by an NPC in a FdL fought it for a bit in my Python (both losing 1 ring of shield) then the new hard as nails fuzz turned up and started attacking my assailant. I boosted once away, turned had a look at what was going on, they were taking it to pieces. I boosted back in and finished it off when the shields were down. All rather easy really.

Weird times.

You own the game.

Why not play and see for yourself? Youre really going to decide to play again based on someone elses opinion? On these Forums of all places?

The mind boggles.
