Has the issue with paint wear been fixed yet?

I stumbled across this and I'm currently En Route to Hutton Orbital to test this theory.

Has this been fixed? I want to fly a really run-down ship with a worn, dirty, detailed paintjob.

EDIT: Image didn't work, attaching regular link instead.

This has been discussed a fair bit in the past. I definitely see the paint changing on my ships over time, amount of wear depends on the ship type. A single Hutton run in my Python makes a massive difference to the paint job.

Apparently there are two separate effects, one for dirt and the other is for paint peeling off. According to some the latter is not working at the moment.

Edit - Here's a picture of a Python after a long SC run. On the flip side my T9 or Cutter will only show slight degradation with the paint fully worn out, still noticeable.

Darn. Just finished my flight, my Cobra is at 30% paint integrity. She looks almost like new - a bit dirty, but with none of the dramatic scuffs and scrapes and peeled paint you see on the Beta Vipe in my first post.

Any news on if this'll be fixed in 2.1? Devs? Anyone?!?!

Honestly, this is "that one bug" that I really want fixed.

EDIT: Yeah- Driver, that looks like what's happening. Dirt is being added, but not peeling paint. Sadly, that's the layer I care more about.

Nope. Still rubbish.
During the last month I traveled over 50k LY (the mission is still going) and roughly 5-7 LY in supercruise. My T6 looks still new and shiny. I bet when I return home, it will be at 99%. [wacko]

I've never seen more than a tiny bit of wear on the nose of my ships. Never, ever anything like that Python picture! I think it is still broken, but maybe one of the fixes that we can hope for in 2.1 visual updates?

You should open a bug report or search for the old bug- I remember posting about it in the bugs section.

I really do wish they would "fix" this bug too!

I mean un-fix it or whatever the proper terminology would be.

Hey wait! That last image looks strangely familiar. Maybe 777Driver has been looting my photobucket?

Here's a little different view of my Python that day. I zoomed on it but can't tell if it's actually chipped paint or just ordinary space dirt.

Regardless, bring back the (word that rhymes with city) looking paint wear on our ships.

Some of us weirdo's actually like it!

Yeah broondog, that pic was from a google search. I have VR pics of my Python showing the same type of wear. It's definitely still in game, will try and track down the most recent post on the subject.

It's all good man! Just razzin' ya.

If I put it on my bucket it's public domain as far as I care. It was just kinda funny to see the pic on your post and I have the identical one on my HD and in my bucket.

My Python is famous! WOOT!!

I'm not too keen on losing the worn out paint on my Python.
It's actually too gentle in my opinion, a used worn out ship should look even more banged up.

This is at roughly 32% paint. (I'm always drenched in sweat not to hit the "repair all" button...)

The grime buildup effect seems to work just fine but the paint peeling/chipping effect is definately bugged.

Occasionally another player looking at your ship will see chipped and scratched paint whereas you can only see the grime effect. Sometimes nobody can see the chipped paint at all.

There's also supposed to be some desaturation of the underlying paint colour, this also seems not to work. My distant worlds asp is (well probably is) at 0% paintwork, and yet despite showing the grime effect, the underlying orange is still as vivid as ever.
