Has the quality of the "SFX" gone down for you guys?

Haven't changed my game settings from the last build to gamma, and it seems that the quality of bloom, shadows, and reflections has gone down dramatically. Is anyone else noticing this as well?

Sorry to be picky, but "SFX" generally refers to Sound Effects. Just FYI!

I haven't noticed, but I'll take a peek, now!

oh.. yea, right. I knew that :p

It seems to have corrected itself o_O Shut down the game, went back to work. Relaunched, and everything looked normal. What kind of bug is this..

I noticed some difference like this too in my DK2.. I'm not sure how to explain it, it's kind of like too much contrast or something and then the gradients around the milky way really stands out like a cut'n'pasted gray splotch onto a space background, same with nebulaes and star blooms (ofc blooms are dynamic, but they stand out all the same). Also the front thruster bloom from my Sidewinder is very visible. It's a bit eye-soring, but not extremely (Well some might call it very eye-soring..). As for reflections I'm not sure.

But sometimes it is A-OK and gorgeous, no visible "gray splotches" around nebuleas, the milky way or star blooms etc..

Btw, it seems they improved the blackness of space in Gamma version, as it's now basically the same color as the shadow side of planets etc (the shadow side of planets don't "stand out" as darker than space now... ofc it might be I restarted in another sector of space after the "gamma wipe", which have a different color tint to it, or lack thereof, or something.. but I think it looks better, regardless of the other issue above).

I haven't really played (started) it enough times to be sure, but my last 2 out of 3 times, it was like that. I'm not sure why it sometimes work, or don't work. Also screenshoots don't show it how I see it... (plus monitors vary also.. ED should have a gamma test slider with a figure that you are supposed to barely see when set correct).

What do you guys have your gamma setting set to in the graphics options? Having it turned up high might reveal some odd artifacts

I have it set to ~60% or so. When the bug occured, it was unchanged from previous versions. The bug seemed to occur when I entered into warp to another system, the graphics seemed to go haywire. I tried adjusting the settings, no love.

Once I exited and relaunched, it seemed to go back to normal, although, I had profile set to high, so the judder was.. bad, very bad. I adjusted the settings to a more realistic setting, and while the judder seemed to go down, it's still there. I used to not get any judder whatsoever :(

I have it set to about 1/3 (darker, a bit to the left). Having it even darker don't seem to help on that issue (except making everything darker). But as it is now, it's playable, but it doesn't exactly look good with the sharp "cut-outs" of say a nebulae, the Milky Way background, or blooms from light sources. Bit of Elite Frontier II feeling there in a way :p (But most other things look good afaik, just not the gradual transistions of nebulaes, blooms etc).

Besides, sometimes it works without me messing with settings. Could be something to do with the Oculus Rift DK2, or maybe if I used the regular screen or something last time, I'm not sure. I haven't tested that yet. I sometimes play without the Rift as I also have TrackIR, but I don't have this issue on the regular screen I use (An older LCD TV).
