Has there been a patch since 3.3?

I don't think so but just want to confirm I'm not going crazy. These releases are usually followed by patches rather quickly. This time around seems strange to not have a patch by now.

No. Nothing client side anyway...

But yeah, it's getting quite close to Christmas so I'd wager if one were coming it'd be soon...

I expect server side changes on this thursday during weekly maintenance: mostly waiting for war time missions.

I'm optimistic they'll fix the "scan one planet with DSS probes, and then show all other planets with the mapped overlay until I quit to the main screen and rejoin open" bug.

<checks beta bug report log>

Nevermind, not optimistic anymore.

My guess is that there's nothing so severe on PC to be worth rushing out a patch for and risking having extra serious bugs sneak in just when everyone's out of the office for a week or two over Christmas and New Year.

(And no ability to patch that quickly for consoles anyway even though they do have more severe bugs)

I'd be surprised if we saw any client patches now before 8 January - maybe some more purely server-side fixes before then.

And yet NMS has received a load of patches almost weekly or fortnightly on console since Next launched...

FDev could do better at actually caring to patch their game more than they do. And Q4 is riddled with issues. Controls dying on players forcing a relog, spintaneous freeze ups lasting upto 20 seconds, sometimes frequently. Broken weapons sometimes not responding to firing command, possibly tied to boost. Broken combat zones spawning clean ships or not showing lawless for some wing members. ATR appearing at zones as a result. Happens flying solo too, though.

On PC, maybe. Meanwhile, on PS4:

1) We are getting hard crashes turning our console off and forcing a database rebuild;
2) We have gotten our HOTAS settings resetted;
3) At random times, our controls simply stop working.
4) 1 to 3 seconds-long complete freeze-frames when detonating asteroids
5) super glitchy shadows in asteroid rings
6) general worsening of graphical settings across the board

There are plenty of severe bugs on PC worth fixing before the holidays.

I have NMS on xbox and there certainly hasn't been weekly patches. Not bashing NMS, just saying.

I'd rather have longer periods between patches so more stuff is fixed. The xbox complete shut down when entering certain interstellar phenomenon is a pain, but for now avoidable. Apart from that there's nothing too game breaking right now. I wouldn't be surprised of we get a patch before Xmas as there is a large number of bugs in the bug forum and many have had responses from FDev saying they are fixed for the next patch (the interstellar one on xbox being one of them, yay).

Yep. But with their two week delay for approvals you were never going to get a patch for any of that this year anyway.

They *really* need to find a way to include consoles in the Beta so you at least can get the worst crash bugs knocked down before release.

I don't have a link on hand but we were told to expect one shortly after the release.

Maybe there are more problems with NMS than with ED, hence the more frequent patches …..

I was hoping to see a patch today. I am guessing maybe Frontier is taking extra time with any patch as the Christmas and New Year break is almost here so anything they release now is going to have to hold together until after the new year.

Oh, on PC we have similar bugs, including the game client soft-locking for 15-30 seconds.
