Newcomer / Intro Haulage Business

Hey cmdrs
I'm a noob to ED on my Xbox but had an account on my pc. I've transferred my across and now have 134.000.000 in my account. I don't really need money anymore so grinding missions for 20.000 credits seems pointless.
So.......I'm thinking, is there away to set up a Haulage Business within the game. To Haul for specific cmdrs to specific stations/systems, like hauliers do in what we call real life 😊

Thank you

A Tea-bagging Haulage Company?

Set one up :) I can see some edge uses for it or for RP instead of winging up. Its effectively the same results as the FCs selling Meta Alloys in Deciat isnt it just different gameplay?

You've said a lot of words there I don't understand 😂

It's certainly possible from a roleplay perspective. Running commodities is not my thing, but passengers are. Same thing really, but the big advantage as I see it is the passenger lounge has not been polluted by wing missions.

So in my very early days I had the notion I would set up what I call my Interstellar Transportation Company. This involves nothing really aside from my imagination and taking passenger missions off the board. Hauling for specific commanders? Not sure about that. You could have a look at something like Inara and fill commodity demands for fleet carriers, to impart that sense you are fulfilling contracts.

So I set up the Interstellar Transportation Company out of Daedalus, Sol. I bought an Orca and ran sightseeing missions, with the occasional rescue. Eventually I added what I call a rumble bus, an armed ship to run quick bulk missions. And here we are four years later and I'm still mixing this in to the activity rotation. I like the idea of having a 'career', even if it takes up a smaller portion of my play time now. I've since moved from Sol, as I didn't like the fact no missions go to a permit system, but in those days it was wonderful from the RP perspective and I had a great time.

Establish a home base, so you can raise faction rep, which, the longer you stay, will expand out within the region until you have a vast web of allied stations in your little corner of the galaxy. This faction rep dictates the quality of the missions you are offered, and if you are going to do it you'll want the best ones.

Look up tea-baggers on this forum, this forum ONLY, do not google it! Its a way of loading up larger ships using smaller ships.

Fleet Carriers have their own markets, can buy and sell goods. Can be used to transport large amounts of goods around for wing or squadron or BGS or CGs usually as a team effort for a common purpose. Some sell useful goods in certain systems, often at vastly inflated prices and some Cmdrs give them away. These Cmdrs are either making money off other Cmdrs or giving charity to them. So the principle of moving goods around for profit from other Cmdrs as its own purpose is already established.

But nobody afaik has done it in a Transit Van yet.

Edge cases - Im in a small ship and have taken a mission to deliver X amount of goods, I find the supply station but I dont want to pay for my T9 to come over, so I hire a Cmdr T9 to carry the goods instead....or I want to spend that time doing combat or mapping the planets or jump back quicker so I hire a pilot. Its an edge case and can only really be justified by RP or why take the mission in the first place.
