Horizons Haumea in Sol

Isnt Haumea supposed to be an elapse shape, and have a crazy orbit? I flew out there and it was just a round rock.

I took off from a regular planet surface and everything was fine, but as soon as I tried to land on Haumea, my Frames Per Second went down to 15. I dont usually have a problem with speed on planet surfaces, especially as I have everything set to Low, but that was almost unplayable. Yes I only have an Nvidia 560, but maybe planets with geysers are suffering?

Yes it is presumed to be shaped like a rugby ball (or football to our American friends) - the ellipsoid shape has not been imaged I believe, I think the presumed shape is deduced from observational data.

P.S. The minor planets introduced in 2.2 are not that well modelled, presumably they were not hand-crafted - I visited Persephone and Makemake in the beta and was disappointed to see that Makemake's moon was missing - presumably Haumea's moons were not there?

I think there was at least one moon around Haumea. I was more concerned with the massive frame rate slow down on a surface. Again my graphics card handles Crysis Ok, so why not ED?

I think its good that these Kuiper Belt planets are in there, but why not just have a proper ring of debris like a huge Torus/Donut/Belt around every system in the game, as this is likely the case for all systems, and this would create all kinds of large chunks of rock to land on, and a natural barrier to the edge of space - dare I say it - a Frontier. Maybe, the Final Frontier of a solar system?

IRW (IRU?) asteroids and Kuiper Belt objects are spread out so thinly that you mostly cannot see one asteroid from another. Dense asteroid belts are a game invention, if you were out there, there would be little if anything to see. Heck, maybe they ARE there.

Looking forward to getting in game tonight and checking things out for myself. Heard a few are having frame rate issues, hope I am not one of them. I run a mostly new top end system as of last year...so keeping my fingers crossed.

P.s. rep added for that awesome avatar picture you got there! Go Amiga!
