Have any objects' names been changed?

Question can alternatively be read as, "have any significant stellar events happened in the thousand years before the game takes place?"

I was looking for UY Scuti, one of the largest stars in this galaxy, and couldn't find it under any of its referred names. I decided to fly about 9500ly in the direction of Scuti to see if I could spot the hypergiant myself, but instead I found this neutron star. Is UY Scuti in the game under a different name? Have any known objects been covered up by procedurally generated ones, or is it missing from the map because it went supernova?

And if it did, where is the remnant?

I was wondering the exact same thing. Several people has asked this, without answer. The fact that we don't have autocomplete in the search window, that stars can have different names and that many seem to be missing is quite frustrating. I hope they get added, because it's not just a few. Many, way too many objects can't be found. Not sure how many players care about them, but maybe the developers are interested, seeing they've always been excited about the insertion of real stars/planets/etc we have discovered in real life. They even said they could keep the map updated with new discoveries. So yes, if things didn't improve over time, it would be strange.
