Have C3 Gimballed Burst Lasers been removed from the game?

Excellent..Excellent *rubs hands together*

REMOVE ALL THE GIMPLES!!!! *runs*

OT: They're notoriously hard to find, use the slider bar for population and look for High Pop High Tech worlds (the larger the better) with allied Factions/Subfactions that you have a High rank with and you'll maximise the chances.

Also if you are in a High Tech Huge Population space port that think you're a one man renaissance/messiah then wait around, log off and come back 10minutes later, because weapons stocks go up and down over time; they might not have it now, but maybe after another Pirate-King/Cargo Donation mission?

it seemed to be pretty random to me, i was chasing after them last week and visited a ton of high tech hubs and nothing,
eventually when i practically had given up i found them in a small outskirt refining system at an outpost.

The high level items seem to have more to do with population than station type. I found 7A shields at an Agri station which had little else in stock.

They are out there - I know because i have some fitted to my Python :D

I got them down in Empire, about 100-200LYs from the Capitol I know thats a fairly large range, but still. they are out there

I found some when 1.3 launched, but have not look at these since.

My question is: what is the point to go for gimballed burst instead of pulse?
They do only 1-2% more damage than pulse, but sucks almost 10% more energy and needs 1.8x more power.
I understand that fixed burst are useful to snipe a burst of 3 shots at a time at the powerplant, instead of trying to stay on the powerplant for a full second and line 3 shots of pulse, but gimballed?

I have E3 gimballed burst lasers on my python. According to e d shipyard's drop-down for the large weapon point the only C3 gimballed are beam lasers.

I'd be very interested in fitting C3 gimballed bursts if they are available as I don't want the power drain of the C3 beams until I get an A7 power plant (and maybe not even then).

if you like to fly very aggressive whit FA off and 4 pips to engines in agile ships then gimbaled bursts are pretty nice,
