Have FD comformed they know Trading is a bit broken?

It is impossible to set up a decent trade route with so little demand. Where I am, the best route I can do right now is a Gold/Silver run from a refinery that is mysteriously selling both very low (that trip makes me 20k), then taking NOTHING back there and repeating. Seriously, taking nothing back is optimal. Surely it should be better than this? But this is the only way I can get more than 200 cr profit per tonne. Pretty depressing. But have the devs acknowledged this or is this what it's going to be?

Do yourself a favor and start Rare trading. I make about 4 million credits a day. I have made so many credits that I'm moving on to doing other things in the galaxy. Normal trading is a waste of time at this point. Friend Maxxgold in game and I can help you out.

Trading is a bit broken but it is possible to find good routes. You need to physically dock to check prices and demand/availability. I found an extraction/refinery on the periphery that has high supply of all metals and a nearby industrial that pays decent for them and ships power generators in return. 1350/ton in about a 15 minute round trip. Not as good as rares and I'm sure there are more profitable trade routes but it's not too shabby. I'm building my nest egg.

Maxxgold, can you elaborate on rare trading? All I know is Eranin whiskey and Lave brandy, and since the latest patch you only get to buy like 6 of them (haven't checked respawn time), hardly enough to make millions... I sacrificed my beloved Cobra for a type 6 hoping I'd finally earn enough through trading to buy an Asp, but it looks like I chose the wrong time to do that.

Yeah I don't really know what rare trading is, either. I always deal in high dollar metals. The only rare goods I find are artwork and alien artifacts. They're always stolen.

So far the most profitable routes I've found for non-rares, have been for schlepping Performance Enhancers to Industrial outposts. About 25K profit per load with my Cobra. Fast easy money. Taking about 5 minutes per delivery round trip.

Dang! That's about what I average hauling 80 tons of silver around.

Friend me in game or you can go to my website and look at this route we use. Teamspeak info is in every forum at the top. We are on Teamspeak throughout the day. Rare trading is the way to go. Millions of credits and the freedom to do what you want after you get enough credits.

Here's a Rare Commodities List!

If that's too much to look at there's another system next to Lave called Orerre, they make an almost toxic caffeinated beverage called Orrerian Vicious Brew.
That should give you enough of a load for a Hauler or Adder.

traded all the way from sidey to Anaconda in beta...now I can barely cover repairs/fuel costs with trading.

Not denying that trading isn't working as it should... but since the latest update, I find that almost every market makes sense, and it's pretty easy to make a profit.

A few days ago, I was trading on the route Cemiess-Vequess-Ngun, taking metals and semiconductors to Vequess, then Crop harvesters and Marine equipment to Ngun, and Tobacco to Cemiess.
Profit from Vequess to Ngun and Ngun to Cemiess is around 700 Cr/tonne. Profit between Cemiess and Vequess around 350 Cr/tonne.

Why would you trade regular goods and make that pitiful amount of credits ? In one trip about half an hour I make 700,000 credits.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll check them out next time I get to play.

One thing I don't understand since final release, how can a system both import and export the same commodity? That doesn't make sense, and makes figuring a trade route very confusing.

I cant reach any of those places with my Cobra :( Was wondering if anyone can recommend an up to date trading tool that might help me?
