Engineers Have FDEV nurfed the MEF drop rates?

I've just got one, but its taken me 7 large +++ sites with medium security to get there. Yes it could be RNG and mean average working against me I'm wondering if its because I have more MEF stored than you though and some anti-hoarding factor at play like the rare commodities.

That would be an incorrect assertion .... i simply haven't been SEEKING MEF for well over a month or more ..... i had a stockpile that i'd gathered pre 2.2 because of new engineering mods i wanted to be ready for.
I went out last night and visited 3 bases and got 1 drop of MEF and 3 drops of CIF .... i'll head out tonight and hit up another 5 or 6 systems and report back but for me the drop rate was pretty variable

As commander Von Shadow underline, this not the most correct way to judge. I have 65 MEFs on my storage unit + ~50 discarded. That doesn't make my "assumptions" more justified. However, the statistics gathering that I maintain - yes, that the other story. Also, I have a funny observation - most part of the commanders questioning about "Where MEF's gone? Are there any changes in statistics? I've done 100500 bases - no MEF's", etc NEVER participate or submit there results to knowledge/statistics base.

Zero MEF/MCF

So out of 8 bases.... a fair amount of CIF and lots of 'stuff' but only 1 MEF... i would have expected more than 1 but RNGeesus

I have been hunting MEF as well and after ive scanned 26 bases, medium and high security +++ I finally got a drop.
That must be a record, 26 bases and just 1 MEF drop.

Idunno guys. I used that guide for locations and I got 26 in not very long at all.

I'd like to see a counter display on the hud for how many materials and data you have in your stores. That would help.

I agree! But also put your current inventory counts next to materials outside your ship that you haven't scooped up yet!

Every time I move over to the CONTACT screen to see what materials are floating in a debris field or contained in an Outcrop, I am reminded how nice it would be if our current storage numbers were listed next to those materials being displayed!

How cool would it be to look at your contact page and see this:

Conductive Ceramics (12)
Polymer Capacitors (0)
Thermic Alloys (1)
Chemical Processors (20)

So much nicer than having to bounce back and forth between your Contact display and your Inventory screen to see which materials you want your limpets to pick up, or target with your SRV scanner!
