So it is looking like the Vive is going to be at $1500
Sony's effort is gonna be at round $1125
Kinda makes the Rift $600 price look like nothing Facebook are said to be making a loss of a couple o hundred per unit.
So it looks like at this moment that the rift has won the race, they have got there first and at half the price.
So HTC and Sony both companies that are in trouble could this be another nail in the coffin for both these companies.
I cannot see people paying $900 extra just to walk about a bit more, and i have no clue what Sony is doing with their effort with regards to spec or functionality so no one apart from Sony fanboy's (used to be me and then they released the ps2 now can't stand Sony products) will get it, so with the exception that it has Sony stuck to it there is no reason to even look at it, so Sony's effort may as well be dead.
So the question is has this killed the Vive as a product? the only thing in it's favor is that its not Facebook and it is with Steam, though with the steam machines not doing so good, they could be taking a huge hit and may no longer want to go into Vr, especially on their own, because lets face it if HTC do not sell enough of these then it could well be the end of them.
