Dear Frontier Developments,
Thank you for organising Community Goals. Currently, for Community Goals, commanders normally obtain credits for each delivery or enemy ship destroyed etc. Why not give commanders the option to be paid in engineering materials instead?
This functionality already exists for normal missions – so why not extend it to community goals too? Preferably, give the commanders a selection of engineering materials to choose from and/or change the engineering materials offered every day etc. Surely this would make community goals even more attractive and result in even greater participation from commanders?
But how to keep track of whether the commander is in the top 75%, 50% etc? Continue tracking the number of units collected for each delivery as currently done, even if the commander chooses to accept full/part payment for the delivery in materials.
Taking the current Community Goal as an example, suppose a commander arrives at the Community Goal delivery point, Starlace Station, with 400 units of CMM Composite. The commander goes to "Commodities Market", "Sell", clicks on "CMM Composite", but instead, would now be presented with these options to choose from:
This method could be applied similarly to community goals requiring bounty hunting etc.

- Option1: the usual sell up to 400 units of CMM Composite at 59,720 CR per unit
- Option 2: a new, trade up to 400 units of CMM Composite for Tellurium, at the trade rate of 2 units of CMM Composite for 1 unit of Tellurium. You already have this function with the Material Traders in the game.
This method could be applied similarly to community goals requiring bounty hunting etc.
