ACTIVE CG UPCOMING CG Have option to get materials instead of credits, when making each delivery?

Dear Frontier Developments,

Currently, for Community Goals, commanders normally obtain credits for each delivery or enemy ship destroyed etc. Why not give commanders the option to be paid in materials instead?

This functionality already exists for normal missions – so why not extend it to community goals too? Preferably, give the commanders a selection of materials to choose from and/or change the materials offered every day etc. Surely this would make community goals even more attractive and result in even greater participation from commanders?

But how to keep track of whether the commander is in the top 75%, 50% etc? Continue tracking the number of units collected for each delivery as currently done, even if the commander chooses to accept full/part payment for the delivery in materials.

For example, suppose a commander delivers 90 units of something required by the community goal, valued at 100,000 credits.

The 90 units of something would be tracked as usual to determine if commander is in top 75% etc. But for payout for that particular delivery, the commander chooses, for example 50,000 credits plus + 40 units of raw material x.

Payout options and amounts could depend on the credit value of that particular delivery.

This could be applied similarly to community goals requiring bounty hunting.

I think the problem would be that CG delivery is using existing mechanisms for selling goods or data, or cashing in bonds; rather than the mission reward mechanism. But I absolutely love the idea and wish it were an option.

Queue CMDRs complaining they can not cash in all their rewards because the material bins are full

Oh but you do not understand... I only want part of the CG paid in materials.... When bins are full I just want credits..

Except that wasn't what was said, so there would never be an issue with cashing in rewards.
