Have questions, want answers

(1) I must have gotten mine from missions. I do not believe there is any "type" of mission that drops particular types of commodities but I have been running data & cargo delivery grinding FED and IMP rank, wound up with plenty.
(3) I went with the Charge Enhanced Power Distributor since I did not need "Focused" or "Shielded" power distribution and Charge Enhanced seems to offer nearly the same advantages of the High Charge Capacity mod but with lower negative values.
(5) If you plan to fight that ship you will probably, eventually want to upgrade the power-plant for increased capacity to run weapons. For fighting (heck, for about anything), IMO stick with A-rated for the thermal benefit and relative weight savings over "B" models.
(6) It's wreckage you're looking for so a Convoy USS isn't going to do it. I just target each USS I see as I fly along, as I am doing whatever it is I am doing and if it does not say "convoy" I drop in and take a quick scan. You will find them mixed in with other debris, usually only in ones and twos.

Thank you. Will give charge enhanced a shot. The python isn't meant for dedicated combat. The weapons are for dealing with one or two NPCs. If I am going to be doing serious combat, that is what the FDL is for. Powerplant choice should be just fine. 6A and will use the modification that I need. For now at least, low emission works great.

Brief update: got my python over to farseer. put a g3 dirty drive on it. Seriously is nearly matching what my FDL does with a g1 clean drive tuning. That one mod also got me g4 access there and so I put a g4 fsd range boost. Now the shortest jump I will make is 20 ly with current set up. Now have my FDL in system, got a G3 clean drive tuning on it, now just need some more manganese to get some more rolls on g4 FSD range boost.

When engineers dropped, I decided that I wouldn't touch it until something changed about how they worked. Now that commodities are no longer required, I can actually get some progress made. Really looking forward to the FSD range boost I can get on my Asp explorer. That will be fun to see.

Dropping commodity requirements was a great thing. It really opened up access to folks who weren't focusing on the Engineers. If they do bring back commodities (with storage), I'm OK with that. But I've done more modding since 2.2.0.3 dropped than I ever had before.

Indeed it is/was/whatever-verb-tense-fits. I have now turned my python into a larger cobra mk III for all intents and purposes. And I love my cobra mk III. Not that I didn't like the python before, but now...it is straight-up awesome.
