Have they Nerfed the NAV points?

I mean, spent 30 min in a NAV Point as I did pre-1.1 and Before I had a good amount of wanted coming in. Now it was just boring, nothing interesting?

So they buried the Bounty hunter job?

Not as far as I can tell. Only managed to play for the first time in over a week today and had seen a lot of posts about BH nerf. Got to say Nav beacons look no different to me. Loving the new bounty claim system too :)

They fixed the never ending stream of 'wanted' NPC's that would show up. It was in the patch notes. We have to work just a bit harder now, and search more than one location while hunting.

Was hunting in my usual spots Scirth and HIP 18527...plenty of targets...bagged 200k in short time.

I thought that just had to do with RESs

I putzed around in a res last night and it was pretty much the same. Its the RINGS without res's that got changed, that was literally a never ending stream of pirates, 1 after another.

Arrival of ships at Nav Point is significantly reduced. I can tell you this with certainty because to this day I play ambush. Recommendation . When exhausted the first wave , get in Supercruise , go to a different location, looking Unidentified signals, then it comes back to Nav Point.
Sorry for my Tarzan english.

Oh yeah, that is right.

I remember during one of my short stints as a miner (couldn't stomach doing it for more than a few trips) I made more money fending off pirates than I did actual mining. As soon as I dropped in to a ring, away from the RES it was like pirate parade.

Why did they nerf nav points then? Bounty hunting was not exactly the highest income activity. But it sure was the only fun activity.

I spent 20mins at a nav point yesterday waiting for someone wanted, it was a fed dropship took him down to 6% then he jumped then had to wait about 5 for another target, other times they turn up fairly well, noticed that npc's still steal kills not as bad as in beta or earlier versions but still happening, Also still get wanted when someone decides to fly through your beam laser or stream of multi cannon. I usually play in solo mode. The thing I find really frustrating is when you take on a mission to kill 6 pirates in another system , you kill 5 then go to a USS and you get contract changed and loose all the kills for the mission you were on, so if you want to complete the mission you have to kill 6 pirates again, just because you get offered another contract it shouldn't mean you have to start over again,

I don't recall this being a thing

We are saying it doesn't appear to be nerfed and that you probably just had bad luck with your instancing. Jump out, jump back in see what side of the die you get next ;)

Yea, some instances can be a bummer. Also need to remember that Nav points aren't constrained to any short distance next to the actual beacon. Ships can fly far out before jumping away. Sometimes a search is required.

It would make sense to put a limit on the number of pirates everywhere. Not just the RES. I think this is what they did.

RES locations took a hit too it seems. Before the patch, I regularly saw every type of ship, up to the Anaconda, show up as pirate/wanted. Now it's Sidewinder whack-a-mole. Once in a while, you get a Cobra or Adder, if the gods are feeling capricious when the stars align properly as the slot machines come up 7-7-7.

I avoid USS's, pirate missions are quicker and less tedious if you stick to Nav beacons and RES's.

I sit in supercruise and get my share of Wanted ships just fine. It varies wildly system to system. You will find _Way_ more federal wanted ships in a system with a federal majority, but if that majority is < 50%. Meaning it's a federal system, but the federal station is just one of a number of stations and the others combined, have more influence. This seems to yield way more federally wanted individuals.

Systems with a very strong federal influence seem to have very little wanted ships out and about comparatively.

I usually run around pick up 60-100k in bounties, repair my 5% damaged viper and repeat in my current hunting ground. With 60k anaconda's out and about fairly regularly amongst the 30k vipers and pythons etc, runs dont take very long.

I never hunt outside of fsd, everyone gets interdicted...lot less wasted time that way from what I've experienced.

yes, USS's are a complete waste of time for bounty hunting anymore. Previously i'd say maybe a quarter had pirates waiting for you. Now it's like less than 1 in 10. It seems USS's are now entirely meant for people to pirate, and/or missions. In any case, pointless to freelance bounty hunting.

Nav points in Anarchy systems should be dangerous right? Now they are just lame.

I actually don't agree that Anarchy systems should automatically be more dangerous. There are plenty of Anarchy systems that wouldn't be attractive to Traders and thus wouldn't be attractive to Pirates. I realize that this isn't how the game works right now, though it would be awesome if it did. The most dangerous I have found Anarchy systems to ever be in the first place is when I was pirating and that is because everyone is mad at me then, including the Pirates that want the cargo I just scooped. When an entire Nav Beacon area is mad at you, then it's dangerous, but just for bounty hunting, never was dangerous really.
