Have they removed the option to buy back sold items?

I'm clearing out some module space and accidentally sold an engineered fsd and can't for the life of me find the option to buy it back

No. I bought back an ADS tonight. You have to be in the main "outfitting" menu. I don't think you can do it from the module menu.

Soon as you undock or exit the game/go to main menu the back history is gone.

Not aware of any other kind of restriction.

Thogh you only have like 5-10 mins to change your mind before it's lost forevah.

Or until you either log out or take off before the time runs out
