Have they sent an assassin after me?

I've done a bunch of assassinations and now I have only an assassination mission and a kill-pirate mission...
So i keep searching at USS for my target and this dude seems to meet me at 2 USS in a row. He's alone, allied and seems to "act" odd in a cobra for an NPC. I've even thought for a moment I was playing in online mode. At second USS he starts attacking after I scan him (he was clean) without any provocation.

So he says this stuff which I have never seen before, though it could've been a bounty hunter AI that got bugged:

Update 1:
Glory Charger was sent after me, aparently. Read on below...

I can't say for sure but I'm getting a lot of interdictions once I started to rack up my bounty (piracy in high space, one moving violation).

Sometimes it's Federal vessels but lot's of the time just bounty hunter NPC's that says something like "you are wanted in this system, target confirmed" and so on. I literally can't stay put in supercruise just a minute without some of them interdicting me. Quite funny too! Less hassle with finding targets for me.

Nope, this was a USS. Attacked without scan or notice.

Quite interesting then! I'm only encountered authority vessels that randomly spawns at USS and carry military plans. They just passing by and jump away after announcing that they are on courier mission and I should not interfere.

Might be some new addition. Need to check.

That's interesting, any idea if you were doing missions against a particular faction earlier that they sent someone after you?

Interesting. The first rule of assassination is to kill the assassin after he has done his job apparently. Maybe this was the faction that hired you's "Cleaner"?
No loose ends and all that. Be careful who pays you to murder others CMDR....

It was getting late last night, and I'm at work now so can't check, but will follow up tonight.

I noticed one thing though, there's a local independent faction in this Empire system with 9% influence that I'm unfriendly with probably due to all assassinations I've been doing, and I'm pretty sure that target is in that faction.

I ran into another neutral NPC in the meanwhile that behaved in the similar way, and didn't get a chance to say much cause I was rushing to finish the mission and wanted to get this over with. One would think that it would be normal for unfriendly AI to to just open up on you, but the first target was green and it sounded like he was hired to kill me.

Edit: My Empire standing is Allied, rank is Count I think.

I've done some hunting at Nav Beacons where a faction sent a wing of Eagles to attack me. The jumped in, made a beeline straight to me and all stared shooting simultaneously with some interesting comms chatter. Something like "There he is!" I should have taken screenshots, it was pretty cool.

I guess that's what you get for picking on the wanted ships from only one faction.

U sure that wasn't from a wing that was escorting a trader?
Those get pretty aggressive if you they are red to you at nav beacons. They will shoot even if you are clean, so gotta be careful about it.

Things are heating up...
They have even sent the famous Glory Charger after me! This is at USS again :) Awesome!!!

He was actually pretty tough for a federal dropship...

This is ace!
I noticed the other day after taking down a couple of bounties in a system that the npcs were handing out compliments to me..
I thought that was ace too; but apparently it was just mildly interesting

I think that ultimately, I worked out what this is about....

As Poseidal pointed out, the system where I was getting these assassins in has a pirate faction that I'm unfriendly with. That apparently triggers these USS-es that have Pirate faction NPCs (as in faction= PIRATE) or have assassins from different factions that shoot on sight. It was nonetheless very interesting, though I'm disappointed to see that none of those NPCs have bounty on them and that here's no reward for the player in those cases.

So if you want to see these USS, I guess, try to become unfriendly with a pirate faction - abandon some missions or do assassinations against them, as legally shooting NPCs does nothing to your rep.

Oh i am unfriendly with a pirate faction in a system where i did a lot bounty hunting mainly those faction.
I was there lately and wondered about the many ships that spawned. But I never payed attention to the chat. Maybe I should read it next time. Sounds interesting.
